Sup. Description | The CACSM is a child-friendly centre which dramatically improves the experience of children and youth moving through the physical and sexual abuse reporting process. With the unique wrap-around support of a Child and Family Advocate with support dogs, children and families have the support and information they need as they move along road to healing. The CACSM has taken the lead in caring for and restoring the lives of vulnerable and abused children, youth and their families across Simcoe County and Muskoka. The primary work of the CACSM is to ensure the most child and youth friendly response to a report or disclosure of child abuse through enhancing the quality and effectiveness of the investigating interview with the best interest, comfort and safety of the child in mind. A seamless, multidisciplinary response is employed to support the victim and their family move through the healing journey. The multidisciplinary team includes police and protection services, health care workers and victim services. The CACSM also offers comprehensive abuse prevention presentations that safeguard children throughout our communities from online sexual exploitation and child sex predators. All CACSM Abuse Prevention presentations are offered free to children, teens and child-serving organizations across the county. |
