Description and Service

Description (Service)

Program supports individuals and families residing withing the County of Simcoe who are pregnant and/or parenting a child(ren) 0-6 years of age who are facing health equity barriers in their communities. This may include families who are:

  • Living on low household income;
  • Socially or geographically isolated;
  • Experiencing teen pregnancy, substance use, or family violence; and/or
  • Facing systemic barriers (e.g., Indigenous families, racialized communities, newcomers, gender diverse families)

Free in-person programs offered in multiple community locations and virtually to support the well-being of both parent and child from prenatal to six years of age

  • programs include parent and child interactive programs in the community offering fun, hands-on experiences that encourage learning, play, and connection
    • activities may include cooking, gardening, swimming, outdoor adventures, physical literacy, and community-based experiences that support healthy child development, positive family relationships, and social connection
Eligibility To be eligible to participate in program, individuals must meet the following criteria:
  • Have a combined household income less than $40,000 (Individual registering & parenting partner income if applicable)
  • reside within the County of Simcoe,
  • be pregnant or parenting a child 0-6 years of age
