Description and Service
Description (Service) All dog owners in Orillia must license their dog(s). Licenses are valid until Dec 31 of the year in which it was issued. Licenses must be renewed annually. 
 
The Animal Control and Licensing Department oversees dog licensing and enforces by-law violations relating to dogs. 
 
All dogs must be on a leash no longer than 10 feet (3 metres) in length when off its owner's property and must be kept under control at all times. Please remember to stoop and scoop. 
 
No owner of a dog shall allow their dog to howl * bark excessively * or become a nuisance. This prohibition is in effect 24 hours per day.  
 
All complaints regarding noise and lack of leash should be issued through the Orillia SPCA (705-325-1304).
Eligibility Proof of non-expired anti-rabies vaccine is required to obtain a license * Dogs under 12 weeks of age do not require a license * There is a maximum of two dogs per dwelling unit
Application Licenses can be purchased at the Orillia City Centre, Critter Cove, Dave's Pets & Supplies, or Pet Value * Call for more information

Fees Service - Cost of license is $30 per dog or $20 per dog with proof that the dog was spayed or neutered * As of June 1, the licence fee for any dog increases to $50
