Description (Service)

Programs to prevent drug use and to reduce harms associated with drug use, including nicotine/commercial tobacco, cannabis, alcohol, opioids and unregulated drugs

  • Chair of the Simcoe Muskoka Drug Strategy, providing leadership to local and regional drug strategy planning
  • Increase awareness and educate individuals, communities and partners on the potential harms associated with drug use
  • Collaborates with partners in the planning and development of resources and programs

Harm Reduction Services include:

  • providing inhalation and injection supplies, naloxone kits, and disposal bins of various sizes,
  • accepting the return of used harm reduction supplies(i.e.. used sharps/needles) for safe disposal at all office locations, and
  • training community partners and businesses in the use and distribution of naloxone kits
