Description and Service

Description (Service) Program assists adults who are having difficulty finding, obtaining and maintaining employment due to a criminal record. Provides individuals with the tools necessary to succeed in the workforce.
  • Personalized guidance on job search strategies
  • Resume and cover letter assistance
  • Interview preparation
  • Advice and resources for addressing questions about your record
  • Supportive community and networking opportunities
Offered as a 1 day program from 10 am-3 pm.

Guest speakers from employers, and other John Howard staff compliment the workshop. The facilitator also creates the opportunity to spend some of the group sessions in local employment resource centres. Currently, the program is offered in Barrie, Collingwood, Midland, Huntsville, Gravenhurst and Orillia. Location and times will be arranged at time of referral.
