Volunteers usually work two 2-hour sessions depending on number of skiers. Most programs run either a Sat or a Sun program. Duration of the program generally runs 8 weeks beginning the first or second weekend in Jan.

Description (Service)

Seven or eight week program that offers people of all ages and disabilities a chance to experience skiing and snowboarding. Also holds a Performance Development Program (PDP) for independent skiers on Blue runs.

Offered with the help of volunteer instructors at Heights of Horseshoe, Snow Valley and Horseshoe Resort.

Eligibility Participants: No restrictions
Volunteers: 14 and up

Fees Student fees vary from program to program. Must become member of CADS to participate - CADS Membership $50.
Volunteer Description Volunteers needed to assist with instruction
  • must be 14 years of age and up
  • each centre provides volunteer training which includes dry-land training and on-hill training
  • contact centre for training schedule and for dates of volunteer orientation day, volunteer contact for each location listed on website
  • volunteers will be required to provide Police background check, contact hill coordinator for request letter
