Qualifications:
- A sincere interest in the general well-being of the residents in the Home.
- Comfort working in a communal setting for seniors.
- Physically able to push wheelchairs, move tables (with assistance) etc. (if applicable)

We are looking for an energetic and positive person, with a strong commitment to igniting the potential in young people This individual will work with a team of mentors and their mentoring coordinator to provide a 7-week program to youth over the summer.
The group will meet once a week over the course of 7 weeks. Each week will consist of a 1.5-hour session that is geared towards healthy living and youth empowerment. There will be one Game On Program; serving male identifying youth and one Go Girls program; serving female identifying youth.
Being a Big Brothers Big Sisters Mentor could be the perfect opportunity for you! In addition to group mentoring, there are other opportunities to mentor throughout the year through our In-School Mentoring or School-Based group programs.
This position is responsible for:
· Supporting and building connections with the youth during a 7-week program period
· Facilitate or co-facilitate 1.5-hour sessions each week for 7 weeks following the group program curriculum
· Be a champion of BBBS within the community to advocate for our programs and demonstrate healthy living to young people in our community
· Provide and follow informative and fun sessions outlined in the Group Programs manual
· Engage in fun activities with youth aged 10-14
· Attend and be responsive to match monitoring check-in with mentoring coordinators to ensure programs are in line with BBBSC National Standards
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
· Outgoing, positive and engagement with youth.
· Strong verbal/communication skills, and a talent for storytelling.
· Extrovert who is comfortable working with a group of youth in the community.
· Great interpersonal skills, self-starter, motivated, and a team player.
REQUIREMENTS
· Submit or agree to a Police Check with vulnerable sector screening.
· successfully complete all aspects of screening and orientation with the agency
· Adhere to privacy and confidentiality
· Mentor onboarding training
· Must be able to provide own transportation to meetings and to the weekly sessions.
· Must be over aged 18-30 years old to be a group mentor.

Wayfinders will guide participants to the new village location and help manage crowd flow, directing
participants to activity stations as needed. At approximately 10:15 a.m., way finders will move to the start/finish line to support the run kickoff, and then reposition along the 1K route within the village to ensure participants continue through the village and on to the start/finish line to receive their medals.
Time commitment would be roughly from 8am - 12pm
Working with other volunteers, this position would take a lead role in organizing social events such as: New Member's Day, Bruce Trail Day, annual AGM, Trail Openings and the Volunteer BBQ.
Duties would include such activities as: arranging a suitable venue and booking the facility; coordinate with both the public relations and volunteer coordinators; develop a schedule for the volunteers to assist with set-up, logistics etc; work with and coordinate other volunteers for preparing or picking up refreshments
