Peterborough CountyWe are seeking dedicated and reliable English-speaking volunteers to tutor adult learners in reading, writing, and/or math. Our learners come from a variety of backgrounds and are working to build foundational skills to support their personal, academic, or career goals. Requirements: Strong command of spoken and written English, fundamentals of English grammar, sentence structure and vocabulary. Clear and understandable English pronunciation, suitable for learners who are developing foundational literacy skills. Our students are learning the building blocks of English literacy. Tutors must be able to model typical English pronunciation and grammar. We provide training and ongoing support. No formal teaching experience is necessary-- just patience, empathy and a strong grasp of English.
NOTE: We ask potential tutors to commit for one year so that they can come alongside a student for that length of time - once students make the decision to improve their skills, they need a tutor who is willing to work with them to increase not only their knowledge but their confidence and self esteem.

The Collingwood Rowing Club is looking for safety boat drivers to help with rows all summer. We are flexible on scheduling and no commitment required. During rows, the safety boat is there to help with any incidents on the water ( boat tips, broken equipment), to help remind rowers to stay on the rowing course and monitor the general safety of the rowers. The safety boat will also occasionally be required to carry the coach between crews. All safety boat drivers will be trained by our facilities team and during rows will be in constant contact with either a coach or the practice captain. Time commitment is 1-2 hours per row. Row times are: 5:45 AM Monday, Wednesday 7:45AM Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday and all holidays 5:45PM Monday, Wednesday, Thursday We also require extra help for the following seasonal events: Come Try Rowing: May 23rd, 9am-12pm and 2pm-5pm (rain date May 24) Learn to Row: June 6th and 7th: 9am-12pm (rain date Jun 13th and 14th) Rows are dependent on weather. We do not go out if it is raining or too windy. Valid PCOC is required. If you do not have a PCOC and commit to 10 hours of service the Rowing Club will cover the cost of acquiring your PCOC. Drivers over the age of 18 will also require a vulnerable sector check.
Seeking a volunteer who could provide ASL interpretation for residents during large group programs at Sunset Manor.
Course Guides
Course guides stand at key intersections or turns to guide runners along the correct route and cheer them on. The shift lasts approximately 3 to 4 hours and begins around 6:30 am. Access to a car, or a carpool may be necessary to reach the intersections positioned further on the course on time.

Student Volunteers
Are you a high school student in need of community service hours? By volunteering at the Butter Tart Trot, you have the opportunity to accrue volunteer hours needed for graduation. North Simcoe Rotaract will only sign off on the volunteer hours of students who have signed in and signed out of their shift at the volunteer desk.
About the Role
We are looking for a reliable volunteer who enjoys working with young children and families and can help create a warm, welcoming environment. This program welcomes children ages 0–6 and their caregivers to explore, learn, and connect through play in a safe and inclusive environment.
Schedule
Wednesdays, 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM
Responsibilities include:
· Assist with program set-up and clean-up
· Welcome families and help create a warm, inviting environment
· Engage with children and caregivers through play and conversation
· Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized space (including light cleaning and toy sanitization)
· Support program flow, including transitions and restocking materials
The Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure is a 5k or 1k walk or run. It is the largest single-day, volunteer-led event in Canada in support of the breast cancer cause.
This year’s event will be taking place on Sunday, October 4, 2026.

Volunteers will play an important role in helping maintain a welcoming, clean, and enjoyable environment for guests. Responsibilities include walking throughout the bingo hall to keep the space tidy by collecting garbage and used bingo cards, greeting and assisting players as needed, and helping deliver food and beverages to tables.
At the end of the evening, volunteers will also assist with light clean-up duties such as wiping down bingo screens and ensuring the space is left organized.
This role is customer-service focused and a great way to engage with the community—no money handling or number calling is required.
Join us at Quayle’s Brewery for our Outdoor Spring Markets on May 2 & 3 and 9 & 10 and be part of a fun, energetic team! We’re looking for youth volunteers to help direct traffic and assist with parking in our front and back lots during this exciting community event.
Volunteers will receive on-site training and be equipped with safety vests to ensure a safe and supportive experience. Please note that this role does require standing and working outdoors for the duration of your shift.
