Description (Agency) Mariposa Folk Foundation is a member-based, registered charitable arts organization.
Description (Service) The foundation works towards the promotion and preservation of folk art in Canada through song, story, dance and craft. 
Mariposa Folk Festival is one of the pre-eminent folk festivals in North America. It is held on the shores of Lake Couchiching at Tudhope Park in Orillia.  
The festival began in 1961
