Description (Service)

Community-based outreach program ensures community members, with a love of learning, have access to a university-level educational experience despite financial or social barriers. The one semester non-credit course covers subject areas such as:

  • Social Work
  • Aboriginal Studies
  • English
  • History
  • Anthropology
  • Psychology
  • Environmental Education

Course does not provide entry into Lakehead University.

Assistance is provided to students for access to school supplies, class materials, meals, bus or other transportation, and child or adult care.

Eligibility 17 years and older 
Must be able to read a newspaper
