Township of Severn has opened a Warming Centre at the Washago Community Centre (4361 Hamilton Street). The Warming Centre will be open from 10 am to 8 pm daily until further notice. Individuals and families looking for a warm space to charge their devices (priority for medical devices), access restrooms, or get a warm drink can drop by as needed. Only service animals may enter the warming centre.

A second warming centre at the Coldwater Community Centre (11 Michael Anne Drive) has also been opened and will also be available from 10 am to 8 pm daily until further notice. It offers the same services as the Washago Community Centre.

The Administration Centre (1024 Hurlwood Lane) is open from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. Monday to Friday and is available for individuals looking to charge their electronic and medical devices.

Those needing overnight relief can continue to use the Relief Centre at the Orillia Recreation Centre (255 West Street South, Orillia). Those wishing to stay the night are required to register at the Relief Centre by 9:00 p.m. For additional information about the Relief Centre, please visit orillia.ca.

When Environment Canada issues an extreme heat or cold alert, rest areas are available to residents for relief from extreme weather conditions. These can include public buildings such as libraries or community centres during regular business hours. Other buildings such as malls or cinemas that have air conditioning/heating could also be used.In Severn, the following locations are available:
