Description (Service)

A 10-week group for parents/caregivers who recently learned about their youth's gender identity.

The focus is on strengthening your relationship with your youth, especially around the topic of gender. One 2-hour group every week for 10 weeks:

  • CONNECT with other parents and caregivers
  • ACCESS their FIT Parent Workbook and materials
  • ENGAGE in interactive, arts-based material
  • LEARN about medical transition, social transition, and other topics

Program delivered in partnership by Gilbert Centre and PFLAG Barrie-Simcoe. Developed by Central Toronto Youth Services to support and strengthen the relationship between trans, non-binary, and gender-questioning youth and their loved ones throughout the gender journey.

Eligibility Open to any families in Barrie and Simcoe County, from all backgrounds and experiences.
