Description and Service

Description (Service) Provides prenatal and well baby care for women and children (up to the age of 6 years) without a family doctor in the Barrie area
  • Offers one on one breastfeeding support provided by an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) which includes education on a variety of breastfeeding topics including:
    • positioning to ensure a proper latch and to prevent breastfeeding problems
    • good nutrition for breastfeeding
    • help with problem solving for breastfeeding issues
Eligibility Prenatal and Well Baby Care:
Pregnant women without a local family physician and children under 6 years old without a local primary care provider

Breast Feeding Services:

All women in the Barrie area whether they have a family doctor or not

Fees None - Ontario Residents - covered by OHIP; Service - patients without OHIP coverage may have to pay a fee depending on visit type
