Description and Service
Description (Service) Staff assist chronically and episodically homeless individuals and families in securing and maintaining housing * work with participants in the community, assisting them in developing skills to be a good tenant, manage finances, maintain good health, and gain employment (where possible) * work to help people to become self sufficient through building an appropriate community support network, mentorship and empowerment 
Housing Access Workers help people find permanent housing by: 
* assisting with accessing funding for utility and rent related expenses 
* assisting with accessing funding for support services needed for individuals with a disability or mental illness who are unable to live independently without care, supervision and/or support 
* providing landlord/tenant mediation 
* providing referrals to community resources 
* maintaining a landlord registry 
* maintaining a housing registry of houses, townhouses, apartments, rooms and shared accommodation
