Description (Service)

Rental, supportive and transitional housing, assisted home ownership and home repair programs with a specific focus on the First Nations, Inuit and Métis communities

  • Central policy/program administration and development of training for Indigenous Housing Providers
  • Responsible for matters related to culture-based, safe, affordable, and adequate off-reserve housing in Ontario outside of the Greater Toronto Area
  • Utilize the talent, skills and experience of Indigenous communities in the allocation, delivery, construction and long-term management of housing and programs and service delivery
  • Ensure tenant involvement through innovative and supportive policies
  • Offices also located in Peterborough, Hamilton, Dryden
Eligibility
  • Both Indigenous and Non-Indigenous applicants may be eligible for rental housing and programs depending on program guidelines and eligibility requirements
  • applicant's total family gross income from all sources must be within specific income thresholds
